California Roll

No sushi platter is complete without the mighty California roll. With positively delicious ingredients like avocado, smoked salmon and crab sticks, how can you go wrong? This recipe serves 4.

2 cups Sushi Rice
1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
4 pcs 1/2 sheets of Nori
1 tsp Sesame Seeds (optl)
8 pcs Crab Sticks
1 Cucumber (small)
1 Avocado cut into slivers

  1. Prepare rice and add rice vinegar. Stir until rice has cooled down to about room temperature.
  2. Place one sheet on a rolling mat with the rough side facing up.
  3. Wet hands and place a handful of rice on the nori. Spread the rice evenly through the nori.
  4. Add sesame seeds or skip to step 5.
  5. Flip so the nori is facing up and then arrange crab, avocado and cucumber in rows in that order.
  6. Roll the mat holding it with the nori and squeeze to make a nice tight roll.
  7. Slice into rolls with a slightly moistened knife and serve.
