LIME

The lime is a fruit characterized by a strong acid taste, it has a spherical shape and is covered by a thick, smooth, green shell and inside it has a white layer. Most of the time what is used is its juice, but its content can also be eaten.

What does Tahiti lime taste like?

The Tahiti lime is acidic, its juice is liquid in consistency, but highly acidic. It is a fruit consumed in great quantity in different countries since its acidity allows it to be an excellent seasoning. It has an extremely strong flavor, we recommend using it in small quantities. Its shell is very bitter if the white part is used, but the external part is highly aromatic.

How is lime stored?

We recommend storing the lime in the cupboard, in the open air for no more than a week since its peel can dry out as well as its juice. You can also keep it in the fridge but the same thing will happen. To improve its duration, store it in a container with water and that the fruits are completely submerged, you can do it inside or outside the fridge.

You can also squeeze them and store their juice in a bottle for about 10 days before it turns bitter.

How is lime used?

Acid lime can be split in half to use in a mechanical juicer, this is the easiest way to use it, but not recommended. This citrus fruit is extremely juicy, but to take advantage of that juiciness, it must be cut on the sides. The fruit is placed vertically and four vertical cuts are made, leaving a square column in the center of just under 1 centimeter on each side. So you squeeze it with your hand and you manage to extract all the juice.

It can also be blended with water to make a delicious lemonade, but it should be consumed quickly because it turns bitter in a short time.
